Hi. I'm the problem.

For a few years, I genuinely tried to fit in. I volunteered, donated, helped people, tried to be friendly, and did everything I could to build relationships and become part of the community. No matter what I did, though, I still felt like the out-of-stater. One experience that really pushed me over the edge was being banned from the 406 Facebook group. From my perspective, I was given no meaningful explanation, proof, or evidence of the wrongdoing I was accused of, including the claim that I had attacked someone, which I strongly dispute. After that, I decided I was done trying to convince everyone to like me.

Instead, I decided to own the out-of-stater label and have some fun with it. I've seen 40 different states, and the more I travel, the more I realize this isn't even unique to Montana. Everywhere you go, there's somebody who thinks you're the outsider, doesn't want you there, or has a problem with why you're visiting. At this point, I think it's hilarious. Locals Hate Me became my way of turning that mentality into comedy instead of constantly being frustrated by it.

I'm done trying to make everybody happy or pretending to be someone I'm not just to fit in. I like music, making music videos, comedy, and making people laugh, so that's what I'm doing. Locals Hate Me is part comedy, part music, part clothing brand, and part social experiment. You can laugh with me, or you can sit in your little hole and continue being miserable.
